Customs and Excise Building at Oslo Airport

The architecture is based on simple geometry, recurring spatial principles, and a modest palette of colors and materials. The construction inspires abstraction toward the details that carry the specific expression of the building. The internal space focuses on a unity of individual and collective, while the “house within a house” principle engenders an inner landscape with dimensions that contrast with the vast exterior space of the site. The exterior of the building is sculpted as one homogenous mass situated in an unequivocal way within its context.
