Sandakerveien 121

Nydalen in Oslo is an area of transformation with a rich identity and historical anchoring in the industrial activity along the river Akerselva. The site is currently housing the printing company of Schibsted, where national newspapers and journals are printed. The printing press halls are visible through transparent facades and have a strong visual significance for Nydalen’s ciyscape

The project has a clear local identity and a historical footing. Through the transformation of the halls we develop a new and attractive destination in the existing environment.

A new public park, the Schibsted Park, is located in the extension of the printing press halls will together create an active social place in the urban context. The new quarters surround the sunny outdoor spaces. A variation between low-rise apartment blocks and light apartment towers create a rich and place-oriented settlement with a human scale. Green roofs that have a varied program create nice meeting places for residents and strengthen the biological diversity.
